As we studied in Gospel Doctorine this week...we focused on the 4 groups of people in Lehi's vision. 1. The people who never held on the the iron rod....who never made it to the tree of life. Some got lost completely, some drowned in the river(hell) and some went to the great and spacious building. 2. Those who held to the rod made it to the tree of life. Partook of the fruit and then were ashamed because of those that mocked them. 3. Those that held to the iron rod made it to the tree of life partook of the fruit and remained on the path to eternal life with Christ. 4. Those that had the opportunity to cling to the rod but were distracted and fell into Satan's temptation and were lost in the darkness.
And with the lesson last week and this week the thing that has been impressed upon me the most is that the choice is ours. And not only the choice but how devoted we are in the choices we make. I am not great at reading my sciptures or at personal prayer, but only I can change that. This week I taught a lesson in Young Womens about choosing to Follow the Savior. And if I do not build my relationship with Christ through studying him and what he would do how am I to be able to make choices that would reflect his. If I do not have that personal relationship with him through prayer how am I to know him well enough to follow him? I want to do better, I want to better know Christ!! So although I am not perfect I am trying to do better.
