Daniel and Savanah here....... we are back on board!!! Sorry we have been missing for a while. We are posting for the 3 Nephi 10 reading for today.
Savanah "And it was the more righteous of the people who were saved". In this chapter we read about those who perished because of their sins and those who were spared because of their faith and righteous works. We may not live to see the day when the righteous will be spared from fire and we will see the evil despair and be lost in death. However, if we do not live to see that day we will be "saved" or "not saved" when we finally meet our Maker. The spiritual death is the most dreadful of all and even though we would feel remorseful to see loved ones perish; we must continue to invest into our exhaltation or we will experience the most unfathonable death ever......spiritual death. May I continue on this path of rightousnessness so that I may be saved in every way.
Daniel: "We read in the new testament that Jesus is 'the way, the truth and the light.'" All of us have at one point or another been in a situation where there is absolutely no light. Darkness brings fear and uncertainty. Our minds start playing tricks on us and we start imagining all the things we have seen on scary movies.
I can only imagine how it would be to have absolute darkness for 3 whole days! I think that God was trying to let his children know the severity of Christ's death. Without Him there is absolutely no light. We are in despair, fearthful and prone to the evils of the adversary.
If we can only remember what is would be like to not have light and the yearning we would have for it then we will desire that much more the association with our savior Jesus Christ.
I am grateful for the opportunity I had to remember this while reading this chapter.
