Chapter 24.... "and it shall come to pass in that day that the Lord shall give thee rest, from they sorrow, and from they fear, and from the hard bondage wherein though wast made to serve"
This chapter really disects the evil and power of satan. He is real....he has power to bondage us of peace and our true potential. No one can completely avoid his presence completely however, there is a great promise that one day we will enjoy millenial rest. The promise is beautiful and real and Satan's influence will no longer be present. He will have no power over us to tempt, destroy, or cause harm. I have to cling to all that is righteous and good in order to stay out of harms way while on this earth so that the promise God made in verse 3 shall come to pass.
Can I just say how happy I am than even Nephi said that many do not understand the words of isaiah.....pheeeewww...I feel better about myself!
I also love the fact that he speaks about the importance of simplicity. Nephi is a simple man who speaks in a simple manner. I remember on my mission how important it was to teach the principles of the Gospel in simplified ways. There is power that comes from clear testimony and scripture. Chapter 25 is easy to understand. It prophesies of the wickedness of the people. Because of their wickedness they will crucify the Lord. After 3 days he will rise from the dead and manifest himself unto his people. Many will not believe and jeruselum will be destroyed yet again. the jews will be scattered and scourged over and over again until they come unto Christ. God will continue to do a marvelous work and wonder among the children of men and bring forth His words unto the convincing them of his Power and love. Nephi says, "I have spoken plainly that y ecannot err." We can not mistake what is expected of us.
"for we labor diligently to write to persuade our children, and also our brethren, to believe in christ, and become reconciled to God; for we know that it is by grace that we are saved, AFTER ALL WE CAN DO"!!!!!
May i never forget the sacrafices that have been offered on my behalf so that I might know my Redeemer. May I labor diligently to pursuade my children to believe in Christ and gain Eternal Life.
Thank you to all those who have sacraficed for me so that I might know this great truth. I love you all
