Mosiah 10-11
He followed the Lords commands, and
prospered because of it. His people were
happy, well fed, and protected!!
You would think he would have
known that Noah would have
been such a ...... what's a good word?
JERK!!!
But, I am sure he was led by the
But, I am sure he was led by the
Lord!!! Not everyone can pass their
test right?
passes his reign onto Noah.
Who instantly taxes the people,
takes himself many concubines,
Builds every comfort for himself
that he can think of, fires all of his
Fathers priests and hires all new ones.
He totally let's this Authority go to his
head....although I can say it would be
really hard not to spoil myself with
all the finer things in life if I were rich.
But, I would not take advantage of
other people to get them!!!!
Abinidi tries to warn the people
that they have forgotten the Lord. That
they need to repent and go to the Lord
or he will deliver them into their enemies
hands. So what do they do when they hear this?
They get angry and want to kill Abinidi.
Gggggggggrrrrrrrrr!!!
So frustrating but, when you are living in
sin, it's hard to hear someone tell you
that you need to shape up.
I know that from experience!!!

Mosiah 9
Wow what a chapter.....
GO ZENIFF!!!!!
Look at him just going
in there getting what he wants
and making it work.
He knew what he wanted and
he built a thriving and pretty
prosperous little city out of it!!!
And then when King Laman
got greedy and lazy....and sent
his warriors in to kill Zeniff's people
and take all their crops, and herds.
Well Zeniff says... I don't think so
He arms his men, and takes the fight to
Laman' men!!! He's got guts!!!
He calls on the Lord for strength and
help and they "slay" a ton of men
3,043 to be exact!!!
Holy Moly,
these last few chapters have
been fun to read. I don't think I
have ever read them.
Thank you so much for doing this
with me!!! I have made it
further than any other time I have
started to read to Book of Mormon!!

Mosiah 7-8
Mosiah sends a party
of 16 people to Lehi-Nephi
to see what has been going on
there for the last several years.
Ammon leads his men out...
after 40 days of wandering
they find Lehi-Nephi.
They camp on a hill and
4 of them go to the city....and
are immediately jailed.
----------
King Limhi sends for them
to explain just what they are
doing in his land....and when they
tell him, he has their bands loosened
and summons all the people to be
gathered to hear him speak.
He teaches his people...
"..if ye will turn to the Lord with full
purpose of heart, and put your trust in him,
and serve him with all diligence of mind,
if ye do this, he will, according to his own will
and pleasure, deliver you out of bondage."
------------
Ammon then tells them of
King Benjamin's speech
------------
Limhi then tells everyone to go home
and tell Ammon about this journey
that his men went on and how they
found this abandoned city, with
bones everywhere, people and animal.
Ruins of buildings, a place that had
been numbered as the hosts of Israel.
(I would have been totally spooked
if I had found a place like that!!!)
They found plates with engravings
on them and King Limhi wanted
someone to be able to translate them.
Ammon tells him of the Prophet
that has the means through the
Lord to have the power to translate
these plates.
King Limhi then rejoices and gives
thanks unto God.
----------
This was a really fun chapter for
me to read....it almost made me think
of like an Indiana Jones movie or
something....Ammon and his men
searching the land and then
being jailed....Limhi's men
searching the land and finding
these ruins with bones everywhere,
and Gold plates, shields, swords...
just lots of adventure!!!!
I played it out in my mind like
a movie. Fun!!

Mosiah 5

"For how knoweth a man the master whom
he has not served, and who is a stranger unto
him, and is far from the thoughts and intents of
his heart?..... Therefore, I would that you should be
steadfast and immovable, always abounding in good
works, that Christ, the Lord God Omnipotent,
may seal you his, that you may be brought to heaven,
that ye may have everlasting salvation and eternal
life, through the wisdom, and power, and justice, and
mercy of him who created all things, in heaven and in
earth, who is God above all, Amen."

Omni
Omni
Amaron
Chemish
Abinadom
Amaleki
------------
5 Nephites over a span of 130 years
write in this one book of Omni.
That is about how good I am at
journaling!!!
But, they show again and again how the
Lord blesses the righteous.
------------
Amaleki says
"...for there is nothing good save it comes
from the Lord: and that which is evil comes
from the devil. And now, my beloved
brethren,I would that ye should come
unto Christ...and partake of his salvation, and
the power of his redemption. Yea, come unto him,
and offer your whole souls as an offering unto him,
and continue in fasting and prayer, and endure to
the end; and as the Lord liveth ye will be saved."
Enos & Jarom
down before my maker, and I cried
unto him in mighty prayer..."
------------
Enos had his own personal struggles
which is what led him to kneel
down in prayer to the Lord and
ask for forgiveness. So much
that he prayed all day and into the night.
The Lord answered him saying
"...thy sins are forgiven thee, and thou
shalt be blessed...Because of thy
faith in Christ, whom thou hast never before
heard nor seen...thy faith hath made thee whole."
------------
That wasn't enough for Enos though, he
cared so much for his people, the Nephites
that he prayed for them also. The Lord
answered him again, and still Enos
began to pray again for the Lamanites
this time. The Lord answered him again
" I will grant unto thee according to thy
desires because of they faith."
----------
How many times do we get stuck
in a prayer rut? Where we say
the same repetitive things
over and over again. If we pray
with meaning having full faith in Christ
that he will answer our prayers....
He will answer our prayers!!!
I am going to try and do better....
having more faith and meaning
behind my prayers.

Jarom taught me that in the world
there is a mix of good and evil. I think
that is unavoidable....but we have a great
gift to help us through the temptations
of Satan. We have a modern day prophet
giving us guidance and revelation, specific
to our time and trials we are facing today on
the earth. I think of the Olive tree vineyard
and how the Master and his servant worked
diligently to save this vineyard and to grow
this vineyard. And to me The Master
is our Heavenly Father and his servants are
Jesus Christ and our prophets!!
I need to do better not only at reading my
scriptures, but at reading what the
prophets in our times are writing, because
those are scriptures as well!!!
